The components for these earrings sat on my bench, partially finished for months- the beautiful pink shell rectangles sitting and waiting, the stamped borders in another piece, and the sawn out rounds of silver in yet another. Every time I tried to work with the components, nothing felt right- sometimes this is how creative work goes. One day, I decided to try assembling the pieces in a new way, and these earrings were formed, and they feel special for just that reason- waiting until the right design came about, and I’m pretty happy with how they turned out. Pink shell, recycled sterling silver, and a very dark patina to make the details pop.
*NOTE: All items are one of a kind, small-batch, hand-made, and no two pieces are alike. In each piece are the markings of something hand-made: the little scratches and minor dents that show the slow craft. I use a patina to add depth and then hand buff each piece for a rustic, soft, earthy glow. I hope you enjoy the wildness and rough beauty evident in each piece.
